Environmental toxin overload can cause one to feel sluggish and can prolong illness. Detoxing your body will help your body heal quickly, will reduce inflammation and will give you a sense of well-being. Read the signals that your body is sending you. If you are feeling unusually rundown or sick, you need to give your body a break and detox.
Epsom Salt Bath: There are various recipes for a detox bath online, but a good basic detox bath is 1-3 cups of epsom salts in a very hot bath. Add a cup of hydrogen peroxide 3% solution. You can add baking soda or a few drops of essential oil, like lavender for relaxation. Dry Brush before you begin. Bathe for 20 minutes, then dry off completely. Rinse with cool water to wash away any toxin residue from the bath. The goal is to sweat. If you begin to feel nauseated or lightheaded, end the bath and try again another day and work your way up to 20 minutes.
Lemon Water: Drink an 8 oz glass of room temperature water each morning before you eat anything. Wait 30 minutes before having breakfast. Drinking lemon water will help your digestive system and will clean toxins from your kidneys. Use organic lemons. Continue to drink lemon water throughout the day.
Braggs Vinegar Water: If you feel like you have "brain fog", drink a glass of warm water with a few teaspoons of Braggs raw apple cider vinegar. In addition to clearing you head, it is great for digestion.
Milk Thistle: This is known to help eliminate toxins from the liver.
Sauna: A FIR Infrared Sauna is recommended. You can buy one or use one at a local gym.
Massage or Lymph Massage: An option to help drain the lymph system of built-up toxins.
